Nubank has surpassed Bradesco to become the private financial institution with the largest customer base in Brazil. According to data from the fourth quarter of 2025, Nubank's customer base reached 112 million people, slightly higher than Bradesco's 110.5 million.

The Central Bank of Brazil released the complaint ranking data for the fourth quarter of 2025 on January 22, 2026. Nubank's customer base ranks second only to the state-owned bank Caixa Econômica Federal, which had 158.1 million customers in 2025.

Nubank's customer base exceeded Santander Brasil in the third quarter of 2023, Banco do Brasil in the second quarter of 2023, and Itaú in the fourth quarter of last year. Since 2022, the institution has consistently ranked in the top five in terms of customer numbers.

During 2025, Nubank added 11.2 million customers, with the second-ranking financial institution being Mercado Pago, adding 8.7 million customers. Mercado Pago is a digital bank and the financial arm of the e-commerce group Mercado Livre, providing services such as accounts, bank cards, and credit as a fintech company.

In a statement, Nubank indicated that its 112 million customers account for approximately 61% of Brazil's adult population. The statement noted, "Nubank is the institution with the highest growth rate in customer numbers in Brazil, consistently moving up one place in the rankings almost every year. While expanding its customer base, the quality of its services remains at a high level, with one of the lowest complaint rates in the Central Bank of Brazil's complaint ranking."

Nubank also stated that its continuous improvement in the Central Bank's ranking demonstrates the consolidation of its 100% digital business model, which integrates technological advantages, operational efficiency, and a low-cost platform.
