On the day of the Dragon Boat Festival, the port company of Qingdao Port, Shandong Province, was bustling with activity on all 49 berths. The "Kanghuan" vessel from COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers was efficiently loading and unloading cargo, transporting nearly 20,000 cubic meters of vehicles, equipment, and other goods directly to major ports in Southeast Africa. The launch of the new COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers Southeast Africa Express Direct Fast Service weekly route marks a breakthrough in the deepened port-shipping synergy development between Qingdao Port and COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers, becoming a "golden channel" connecting China with African maritime trade.

Reportedly, from January to May of this year, exports of vehicles from Qingdao Port grew by over 30% compared to the same period last year. Vehicle exports have become the most robust and fastest-growing cargo type at Qingdao Port in nearly five years, highlighting its key position as a hub port for general cargo.

In the context of the wave of "smart manufacturing going global" in China's manufacturing industry and the accelerated industrialization process in Africa, Qingdao Port is actively building a first-class supply chain comprehensive service system based on the port, precisely catering to the export demands of industries such as construction machinery and new energy equipment. Qingdao Port has recently expanded its export vehicle business, diversified its route network, added three new routes to Europe, South America East, and India, covering over 40 general cargo routes, creating efficient and stable maritime channels for "Made in China" exports.

As "Made in China" accelerates its entry into the global market, China's machinery manufacturing industry is developing rapidly, with high-end intelligent manufacturing products such as wind power, photovoltaics, and automobiles embarking on overseas journeys. This trend sets higher standards and requirements for port and shipping services. Qingdao Port has seized the opportunity presented by the rapid development of vehicle exports, actively engaged in partnerships with shipping companies, freight forwarders, and other industry collaborators, and actively sought sources of goods. By strengthening the port-shipping synergy mechanism, understanding customer needs in depth, tailoring holistic logistics solutions, and integrating information flow, cargo flow, and logistics precisely, Qingdao Port has enhanced cargo transport efficiency.

Qingdao Port has scientifically planned the vehicle yard, implemented refined zone management, connected the "last mile" of the port access channel, and provided value-added services such as refueling, charging, and car washing, showcasing service quality through details. Furthermore, Qingdao Port has dedicated efforts to enhance service quality and operational efficiency, achieving an exponential leap in the export vehicle business. From an average annual completion of 10,000 vehicles five years ago, it has now surged to 70,000 vehicles, evolving into a fully functional specialized terminal for rolling, lifting, and storing operations, serving as a significant driver of growth.

Qingdao Port has actively sought policy support, collaborated with relevant units, and made concerted efforts to promote route development. Through various endeavors, advantageous conditions such as route subsidies and customs facilitation have been successfully secured, reducing enterprise logistics costs and enhancing attractiveness and competitiveness in the global trade market.

Against the backdrop of global trade, Qingdao Port is tapping into the potential of general cargo liner "hub port" transportation "arteries," leveraging outstanding service, comprehensive facilities, and innovative models to facilitate the expansion of "Made in China" into more global sectors, demonstrating China's strength in the international market.
