According to the latest foreign media reports, a container ship named "Ever Feat," owned by Evergreen Marine Corporation, encountered adverse weather conditions off the coast of the Grande River in Brazil, resulting in the collapse and damage of approximately 30 to 40 container stacks on board.

The report states that the container ship arrived at the port of Montevideo, Uruguay on the afternoon of July 29th local time.

Images from the scene show collapsed container stacks on the ship, with some containers damaged and dented. At least two containers are hanging over the ship's side, posing an immediate risk of falling into the water.

Local coast guards are assessing the losses and devising a plan to safely remove the affected cargo. Some containers are reported to contain fertilizers, while others may have toxic substances. A restricted area has been established around the ship to ensure the safety of the cargo.

It is currently unclear if more cargo has fallen into the water, but multiple containers have been damaged. The specific cost of the losses has not been reported and requires confirmation from the shipping company regarding the extent of the damage and containers fallen overboard.

The "Ever Feat" container ship was built in 2021, with the IMO number 9850898, flying the flag of Liberia, and having a capacity of 11,888 TEU. According to ship tracking information, the vessel was operating on voyage 1647-026W on the Far East-South America route ESA.

This vessel's joint service involves Ocean Alliance members Evergreen, COSCO, OOCL, Yang Ming, and Pacific International Lines. The ship had previously called at Chinese ports such as Shanghai on June 14, Ningbo on June 17, Yantian Port, and Hong Kong on June 21, before loading Chinese cargo for South America.

The latest vessel status indicates that the "Ever Feat" is currently docked at the port of Montevideo. Delays in the schedule are expected.
