According to the "Xinhua-Baltic International Shipping Center Development Index Report (2025)" released data, the Ningbo-Zhoushan International Shipping Center has achieved a historic breakthrough in the global ranking of international shipping center cities, successfully rising to seventh place globally. This marks its fourth promotion in ranking over the past five years.

In 2015, the global ranking of the Ningbo-Zhoushan International Shipping Center was only 23rd, but it entered the global top ten for the first time in 2021. Since then, the center has advanced one place each year in 2023, 2024, and 2025, achieving a "four-place jump in five years."
In recent years, the Ningbo-Zhoushan International Shipping Center has continuously improved its level of shipping services, with both hard and soft strengths advancing hand in hand. In 2024 alone, the cargo throughput of Ningbo-Zhoushan Port reached 1.377 billion tons, a 4% year-on-year increase, maintaining global leadership for 16 consecutive years. The container throughput reached 39.3 million standard containers, an 11% year-on-year increase, marking the highest growth rate in nearly seven years and firmly holding the third position globally. Additionally, Zhejiang Seaport Group and Ningbo-Zhoushan Port Group are dedicated to developing water transport, ship refueling, ship trading, shipping information services, and international cooperation platforms, continuously enhancing the level and quality of shipping services.
