On May 25th, Geely Auto's subsidiary Geespeed Logistics Company held the maiden voyage and naming ceremony of its first car carrier ship, the "JISU FORTUNE," at the Haitong Terminal in Taicang Port. This ship will carry over 5,000 vehicles to European countries, including the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
The "JISU FORTUNE" is Geely Auto's Geespeed Logistics' first self-owned roll-on/roll-off ship, showcasing a deeply collaborative "automobile company + port shipping" model that robustly ensures the stability of car exports. This collaboration supports the overseas export of a large number of complete vehicles and automotive parts, providing a stable, reliable, and more cost-competitive maritime channel for Chinese automotive enterprises.
According to Clarkson's data, the "JISU FORTUNE" is an LNG dual-fuel car carrier that can accommodate 7,000 vehicles, ordered by Israeli shipowner Zodiac Maritime from CIMC Raffles in June 2022.
As per Zhongjin's understanding, this ship has a total length of 199.9 meters, a beam of 38 meters, and can accommodate 7,000 standard loading spaces. With 12 decks, it can carry both fuel cars and lithium battery cars. Four decks are adaptable for different vehicle sizes with lift-on/lift-off capabilities. The 11th and 12th decks can transport new energy vehicles powered by hydrogen and natural gas. Equipped with two sets of 2,000 cubic meter C-type LNG storage tanks, it uses green and clean LNG as the primary fuel, significantly reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides and sulfur oxides, enhancing the ship's energy-saving and emission reduction efficiency, and promoting its environmental performance. The ship's hull form and various energy-saving devices further optimize efficiency, providing more stable, low-carbon logistics support for the global delivery of Chinese new energy vehicles.
Geely Auto's wholly-owned subsidiary Geespeed Logistics has built a comprehensive logistics system covering the pre-production, mid-production, and post-production stages of the automotive industry's domestic and international operations. The self-operated "JISU FORTUNE" will help strengthen Geely Auto's independent and controllable overseas capabilities, establishing a more resilient global automotive export logistics system.
