Thai RCL (Regional Container Lines) achieved a net profit of approximately $260 million in 2024, marking a 510.3% year-on-year increase, mainly driven by significant increases in container volume and average freight rates.

For the full year of 2024, RCL's operating income reached 37.25 billion Thai Baht (approximately $1.05 billion), a 37.3% year-on-year growth; with a net profit of 9.17 billion Thai Baht (approximately $260 million), showing a 510.3% year-on-year increase.

RCL stated that in 2024, the total container volume reached 2.45 million TEUs, a 12% year-on-year increase, while the average freight rate per container rose from $343 in 2023 to $404, a 17.8% year-on-year increase.

During 2024, RCL added 5 new vessels to its fleet, with 2 vessels under long-term charter agreements to address market shortages and high demand. Additionally, the company deployed 3 more new vessels for its own operations to meet the growing and diversified needs of its customers.

According to the latest data from Alphaliner, RCL ranks 21st among the top 100 liner shipping companies globally, operating a fleet of 37 vessels totaling 106,114 TEUs, including 29 owned vessels and 8 chartered vessels. Furthermore, RCL holds orders for 11 new vessels totaling 56,332 TEUs.
