Brazilian aerospace company Embraer, the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer, is set to receive a 1.09 billion reais loan to support the production and export of commercial aircraft. The Brazilian National Bank for Economic and Social Development (BNDES) issued a statement on Tuesday announcing the approval of this financing, which Embraer will utilize to fulfill delivery plans with importers from various countries.

According to the Brazilian state news agency, Embraer leads in the manufacturing of commercial jet aircraft below 150 seats. It is expected that by the end of 2025, the total deliveries of its commercial aircraft will range from 77 to 85 units. The deliveries were 73 units last year and 64 units in 2023. Taking into account both commercial and defense security aircraft, the deliveries are projected to be 206 units in 2024 and 181 units in 2023.

Embraer's President, Francisco Gomes Neto, mentioned that the company has reached a historic high in order volume and is experiencing strong sales momentum. He emphasized the importance of BNDES financing in supporting increased production capacity and accelerating delivery speeds in the coming years.

BNDES President, Aloizio Mercadante, highlighted that Brazil is one of the few countries capable of designing, manufacturing, and exporting commercial, executive, defense, and agricultural aircraft. He stated that this is a strategic industry requiring high technology and skilled labor, with a positive impact on the Brazilian economy.

Since 1997, BNDES has provided approximately $26.3 billion in financing for the export of Embraer's commercial aircraft, supporting the production of 1,350 aircraft. Embraer employs 23,500 individuals globally, with 18,000 in Brazil. In addition to employees at its headquarters in São José dos Campos, São Paulo, the company has engineers and staff in other cities. It also operates industrial facilities in the United States and Portugal, with most of its sales coming from export markets.
