According to Zhongjin's understanding, on July 1st, BYD held a ceremony for the rollout of the first car at its passenger vehicle factory in Bahia, Brazil, located in the city of Camaçari. The Governor of Bahia, Rui Costa, stated in his speech that the completion of the BYD factory in Bahia not only symbolizes industrial development but also marks a new chapter in cooperation between Brazil and China. He said, "We are ready to embrace a greener, more innovative Brazil. This factory will drive local economic development, promote local employment, and serve as a model for technological transformation."
Li Ke, Executive Vice President of BYD, mentioned during the ceremony that as one of the companies with the highest global research and development investment, BYD is introducing leading technology into Brazil. He stated, "From groundbreaking to the rollout of the first car, it only took us 15 months. This is a milestone for BYD and signifies a new starting point for sustainable transportation development in Latin America." Data indicates that in the first quarter of this year, BYD's sales in Brazil exceeded 20,000 vehicles. By May, BYD had risen to the fourth position in the retail sales ranking of automotive brands in Brazil, with a market share of 9.7%.
